Every Wednesday, we will be sharing videos of our amazing volunteers and donors sharing their “why”.

Shaunda Rossington, Former BRCF Board Member shares her experience working with various community organizations, and how they benefited from receiving grants from The Brokenhead River Community Foundation.

“I look back on all the work that has been done with the Foundation and all of the benefits to the community, and I’m just very proud of my involvement. I was especially proud during the COVID times where the Foundation was able to help all the community organizations that were struggling.

As our assets grow every year, it’s exciting to see the amount of money we have available to grant, grow as well. It really is having a lasting impact on our communities.”

Every Wednesday, we will be sharing videos of our amazing volunteers and donors sharing their “why”.

Leone Rondeau, BRCF Board Member shares the story behind the establishment of the Robert Rondeau Memorial Curling Scholarship Fund, and how it inspired her to become a BRCF Board Member.

“When my husband passed away in 2012, a good friend of ours, who is a former board member of the Foundation, suggested that we set up a scholarship in Bob’s memory. I didn’t know a lot about the Foundation at the time, but I thought it would be a wonderful way to honour his memory.”

“I am pleased to be a regular donor to both Bob’s fund and the general Foundation fund, because I have seen firsthand the impact these donations have on our community. It is a wonderful way to honour a loved one and support the place that has supported us.”

Such a powerful opportunity to leave the footprint through the help of the local Foundation.”

“My why for being a part of The Foundation is to try and let as many people know, whether it’s a community group or organization, but primarily the residents of our community, know about The Foundation and the good work it does.
